In Acts 1:8 we are told Jesus promised his disciples that they would receive power from the Holy Spirit to be his witnesses not only in Jerusalem, but also in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth. The call to be Jesus’ witnesses is local, regional, national and international. In his revelation John saw a great multitude from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne of God. (Rev. 7:9). We take these promises seriously, and along with other New Frontiers churches we are committed to planting and serving churches abroad, and supporting their work with the poor and needy.
Serbia
For the past 8 years the church has been gathering in homes and various other venues but Good News Church has it's own home, in the centre of Nis. The building is also a place form where the church can serve not only the people of their city but also in regions beyond. Nis has a population of 270,000 with 50,000 unemployed, 30,000 refugees and the average monthly wage is £120. Good News Church is a 'light in the darkness'. New Wine Church, along with other Newfrontiers Churches in North Norfolk have also sent out teams to serve the church in Nis on a short term basis. These teams have worked with the church practically, in evangelsitic outreach, in areas of training and equipping, in encouraging the church family and of course having lots of fun. The church in Serbia needs leaders and workers. Vlada Stojanovic, who leads Good News Church, says the following "..I'm sending you a big invitiation to be part of God's plan fro Serbia. We want to bless you! Come and bring your gifts, your skills, your sons and daughters, your wallets and resources, your hungry hearts for more of God, your passion and love." We are particularly involved at this time with our friends at Good News Church in Nis, Serbia. We, as a church, sent out Alex & Kay Wallace, to work alongside the Church leader-ship during 2008. Alex & Kay spent the year serving the Church family in Nis.
